In our third installment of RMGT Open Mic, we’re talking with Doug May of One Step. Based out of Davenport, Iowa, One Step used to be a digital only shop. Today, 90% of their work is printed on offset.
"With the amount of variable print that we have, it's hard to justify a million-dollar digital press to take care of that small amount of variable business. We made an analysis that indicated that the cost per impression and the throughput speeds of offset were much more compelling than printing digital." Doug has been so successful with his first RMGT 9 Series that later in August he will install a new RMGT 920PF-8+LED Long Perfector. This will more than double his capacity while still enjoying a single pressman operation, along with all the other built in efficiencies that RMGT brings to the table. Hear about the benefits of Doug's move to an RMGT offset press and the economics behind it in our third installment of RMGT Open Mic.
